Hey, guys. Linkin Park just dropped a new song called Talking to Myself, and this is after the lead singer, Chester Bennington, has died. So I’d like to share what the lyrics would sound like in a godly way. So to do that I am using Chester’s lyrics to be as God’s voice.
So what we have in the first verse, God would be saying, “Tell me what I’ve got to do. There’s no getting through to you. The lights are off and nobody’s home.” And the pre-chorus is, “All the walls that you keep building, all this time that I spent chasing, all the ways that I keep losing you,” really describes more of the Lord saying, “You’re an evildoer and you remain in your evil ways. And these are the walls that you build, chasing the things that you love and in this way you lose God.”
So there’s also a response to say that you turn into somebody else and this response is that, “God, you’re not the God that I thought that you were to be.” So he says that I’m just talking to myself. And this is the way of my own doing. I’m just talking to myself. What that really means is the words that I say to myself that are not of God are my words because I’m God. And that can be further spoken to say, “I say what is right and wrong and God does not tell me what is right or wrong.”
So we have a person, even though we rebel against God and say, “I admit I have made mistakes,” though that’s a dangerous word because admitting you make mistakes does not necessarily mean that you think you’ve done anything evil and it really makes you more self-righteous to say, but yours might cost you everything. Your mistakes, meaning are worse than my mistakes, you’re more evil than me, the Lord my God.
So, the response to God is you turned into something else. You turned into something else and I’m just talking to myself. These walls keep on building. I keep chasing the things of this world and in doing so, I lose God. I’m talking to myself.
In versus John 3:19-20 is says this, “The condemnation in this that light has come into the world and then loved darkness rather than light, for their works were evil. For everyone that does evil hates the light and comes not to the light lest his works be reproved.”
Well, there you have it. Chat with you guys soon. Take care.
